We can conclude that allowing students to choose their own teachers has both positive and negative effects. What we must do is to make sure that the positive ones are encouraged and the negative ones are eliminated as far as possible.

The Spring Festival Gala on CCTV has almost become a buzzword during the Chinese New Year. A lot of people prefer to watch the performances while sitting around the dinner table with all the family members. They enjoy the warmth of the atmosphere and the excellent programs of the famous performers.
However, some other people propose that the Spring Festival Gala be cancelled. In the first place, only one TV program is incapable of meeting the demands of people from different walks of life. In the second place, huge amounts of money are spent on the preparation of the performances. If we spent the money on Project Hope, a lot more poor children would be able to attend school. Last but not least, people would be more likely to talk to their family members without the distraction of the Gala.
As far as I am concerned, there is truth in both arguments. The Spring Gala on CCTV may continue to exist; but at the same time we should encourage TV stations at all levels to produce different programs to cater for the needs of the people.
