should we train children at an early age

Topic: Society should identify those children who have special talents and abilities and begin training them at an early age so that they can eventually excel in their areas of ability. Otherwise, these talents are likely to remain undeveloped.
With the roaring competition in the job market, many children have been convinced to study hard in preparation for their future. Besides having classes in at school on weekdays, they are also dropped off in front of various training institutions to receive diverse supplementary courses such as English-intensifying class, piano class, drawing class, etc at weekends. Modern children have been deprived of their personal leisure time in which they can play with their peers and companions. They have to be stuck to their seats and listen to the seemingly practical and useful courses, while deep in their mind they are yearning for a study-free day to fully enjoy themselves.
As a matter of fact, I have to transmit my wholehearted compliments to those parents who send their children to receive extra education! They have a clear picture of the current trend in our society. Hence they are eager to qualify their children as early as possible so as to prepare them better in the future. They think they are digging into their children’s talents through diversified extra trainings.
However, does such kind of method really identify children’s special talents and abilities? With different kinds of training can the children really excel in their areas of ability eventually? I cast great doubt on the affirmance raised in the topic. Below is my elucidation.
Needless to say, if some children display brilliant talents and abilities in some aspect, it is parents’ obligation to further develop those talents by proffering the children special guidance and instructions. As the children are enjoying what they are being taught, they will learn interestedly and keep high spirits, which will ensure an exceptional outcome in the future. But now the key issue is that only a tiny proportion of children demonstrate their special talents and abilities when they were young, while most of them show no outstanding potential in some fields even after they have grown up into a teenager! Most of the time, it is the parents who send their children to take those endless and tedious courses that their children show no affection to at all! Children are reluctant to learn, but under the enforcement of their parents, they have to swallow all those courses. Not only will this be far from reaching its initial purpose, but also it will lead to the children’s further disgust to normal education at school and strip them of their should-be gloriously memorable childhood.
At this moment, my opponent may retort to me by questioning me that if the children’s special talents are not specified timely, then after they grow older, it is difficult to cultivate their talents again and their talents will remain undeveloped. Is it really true? I suppose not!
As far as I see, some children, when they are too young, will not show strong interest in something while they will after growing older. Most of us have developed some interests that were formed after we reached a given age! Hence, if the parents try to dig into their children’s talents imperatively by pressing them to those trainings, they will still act as usual with no evident progression. But if the children grow older and truly locate their own interest and advantages in a certain filed, without being compelled they are willing to study what they like. Then with great interest and talents as well as industry, they are doomed to reach their set target! The most critical element lies in interest and diligence, not the time when they have found their special talents and abilities. Just as two saying goes, where there is a will, there is a way and it is never too late to learn! [!--empirenews.page--]
Altogether, the standpoint in the topic is too partial. To my mind, besides compulsory education our children is obligated to receive, they are entitled to choose they own life. We should not force them to take different trainings if they are reluctant to do so! We should render them a beautiful and rorty childhood!
